This morning there is a problem with the EA App that's preventing Sims 4 from launching. You can launch the game following these steps:
Click the bottom left corner X to pause the supposed "update"Go to the top left menu (three horizontal lines)Select "Go Offline"See the pinned post at https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports-Technical-Issues/Cannot-download-The-Sims-4/td-p/12866104 for a launch method.
